Snapshot Appreciation

I bought this snapshot for my collection because of the Brownie camera in the hand of the child, sitting on her mother's lap to the left. But aside from the camera, I find it charming in many ways. It's a lovely family photo with several generations of men, women, and children, posing happily in a woodsy setting at what seems to be their summer vacation cottage.
There are many interesting details such as the crisp hat in the hand of the man on the left, the cast on the arm of the boy in jodphurs, the bow tie worn by the tall man in the back row, the frown on the toddler struggling to break loose, and even the graceful line of the rocking chair visible behind the screened front porch. The photo finisher has printed the image on deckle-edged paper with a decorative border, an aesthetic touch which adds to my, and hopefully your, present day nostalgic appreciation of snapshots.
